  1. The bad sectors were physically damaged, preventing me from recovering them at all.
  2. This incident gave me a tough day, but I shall recover tomorrow.

to build something again after it has been damaged or destroyed.

  1. In order to rebuild a reliable system, I need to buy new hardware and replace the old one.
  2. Life is not a static balance at the perfect point, it is constantly breaking down and rebuilding.

  1. Before recycling that old hard disk, I must wipe out all data, so nobody else finds out about my secrets.
